About Africa 4 Climate

The APP is useful ONLY for people who have purchased an "improved cookstove" produced by the Africa4Climate project in Togo (Africa) and whose mobile phone number has been registered on the Administrative Web Panel of the Africa4Climate project.

On first use, the APP asks the user:
- to indicate his telephone number
- to enter the authorization code received by SMS

If the phone number is found in the Africa4Climate project database, the APP will register and synchronize the APP with the database information.

The APP is used to share information about the position where the stove is; take pictures of the stove itself; to request assistance in the event of a problem with the stove.

A kiln used for a year saves a wooded area equivalent to the area of four tennis courts.

How cookstoves work
By keeping the burning fuel lifted, more air flows underneath, reaching the combustion chamber above. This concentrates more solid fuel and hot air. The combustion chamber is well insulated, so less heat is wasted. Additionally, the inclusion of a simple chimney on an improved fireplace can improve combustion by increasing airflows while reducing indoor air pollution.

Why are improved stoves good for the environment and for us?
Clean technology that generates environmental and social benefits

30% savings for households (6500 FCFA/M)
-30/40% of wood and coal consumption
-90% greenhouse gas
Improved user health (less smoke, increased safety)
