25, 26 & August 27 crack the shanty madness again loose in Appingedam. During this three-day event, we can welcome a total of 45,000 visitors who will provide the historical center of Appingedam a unique atmosphere. The 16th year will be to listen to some 35 groups and choirs. These numbers make this festival the largest Folk & Seasongsfestival Europe. Besides the many shanty groups numerous other activities are organized. There is also this year a maritime market where you will find unique I include ancient mariners stuff. There are also numerous workshops and activities which you can join for free. And like every year, this year there is again the tour boat with groups on board where you can cruise through the canals of Appingedam in order to be able to experience the beauty of our city!
