The story of 25 prophets and messengers is very complete and full of stories touching the Prophets and Apostles which is one of the 4th Pillars of Faith in the teachings of Islam.
The Prophet may convey the revelations he received but have no obligation for certain people or certain regions. Whereas, the Apostle comes from the word risala which means delivery. Therefore, the apostles, after being appointed as prophets, were tasked with conveying revelations with obligations to a particular people or region. Of all the apostles, Muhammad as the 'Seal of Prophets' who received the official title in the Qur'an the Prophet was the only one whose obligations included the people and the entire universe 'Rahmatan lil Alamin'.
