Although many names of Allah are mentioned in the Holy Qur'an and hadiths, it is a misconception to think that their names are different. All of these names belong to God alone and bear witness to the existence of a single Creator. By knowing the names of their Creator, the human race can come to know the infinite God.
God has commanded His servants to use His beautiful names in their prayers. Because no one can praise God more than He praises Him.
The Holy Qur'an states: “The best names belong to Allah. Call on him by those names. Put aside those who are crooked in the name of God. They will be recompensed for what they used to do ”(Surat al-A'raf, 180).
Imam al-Bukhari narrates a hadith that a person who memorizes 99 names of Allah will be in Paradise.
