The Nalek (Freebasan) language is a Javanese attack language which is widely used in the Banten region which has been in use since the time of the Banten Sultanate in the 16th century around 1526 at the beginning of the formation of the Banten Sultanate under the auspices of Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin.
