“Recognita” is an app developed to implement the studied concepts and researched about biometric systems involving facial elements, specificly, the ones at the ocular region.
The app has two main functionalities:
- Authenticator -- simulate the unlock function of a device using facial recognition. Initialy, are captured a few images about the user’s face and than the processed data is stored on the device. After, another image is captured and the characteristics of this one are compared with the saved. If they match, the “phone” is unlocked;
- Comparator -- compares the face of two persons.
The development of the app is part of a scientific initiation project financed by the CNPq, developed by the initiation student André Zanardi Creppe, informatics student at Colégio Técnico Industrial “Isaac Portal Roldán”, of UNESP, and oriented by the Ph.D. Aparecido Nilceu Marana, professor at Faculdades de Ciências, UNESP, campus of Bauru.
