He is Sheikh Ahmed bin Suleiman bin Ahmed Al Jamal from the Bani Al Jamal tribe.
● Birth and upbringing:
He was born in (1367 AH) in the village of Bani al-Hadi, one of the villages of Wadi Zabid located on the western side of the city of Zabid. His uncles are Bani al-Hadi.
● His request for knowledge and his journey to it:
He learned the letters and read the Qur’an at the hands of the readers of the region. When he reached the age of fourteen, he traveled to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his journey was to seek knowledge, so he engaged in the study of legal sciences (hadith, interpretation, statutes, jurisprudence, belief, monotheism) and grammar.

Among the most prominent of his sheikhs from whom he took knowledge in the Great Mosque of Mecca and the civil sanctuary in Medina are:
