The ECLYPSE Youth Centre is a place for at-risk youth ages 12-24. We are located in the Greater Toronto Area. Our centres promote a safe space for youth who come from all walks of life. We encourage youth to speak about the issues affecting them, while ensuring that they have a healthy outlet to do so.
The ECLYPSE Youth app has this exact goal, but in a technological platform. Our app is designed to help support youth not just in the Greater Toronto Area, but simply to any youth who may need an outlet and have access to a mobile device. The app contains everything mental health and wellness related in one place. Youth will be able to build community and feel connected with other like-minded individuals. In the process of doing so, they will also be able to look for resources to assist them in their personal lives.
At Eclypse Youth user can easily post their questions as anonymous and get replied by other users.
We have added multiple features to this
- User can ban another user to not see any questions or answers.
- User can report questions or answers.
- Admin will review all questions and answers before showing in the app.
- We have added stronger terms and conditions for users to approve every time posting a new question or replying to an existing question.
Some features we have included are a resource section, a mental health section, a podcasts section, and a community discussion section. Our resources section includes a vast number of resources in the province of Ontario for youth facing different issues within their lives. This includes locations of these organizations, contact information, hours of operation & more.
Our mental health section entails information on several different mental health disorders and coping strategies. This section will be updated continuously, to provide youth with the most current information on everything mental health. Our goal for this section was to inform you and hopefully provide them with insight on something that they may be going through.
We have developed our very own podcast. In the app youth will be able to listen to every episode and will be informed when a new episode is uploaded. Youth will be able to listen to engaging conversations from some of the youth workers at ECYLPSE.
Our community discussion section will allow youth to participate in weekly discussions, where they will share their thoughts and opinions on a prompt. These prompts will be posted on a weekly basis and will allow youth to connect with each other in real time. These prompts will be focused on mental health, social justice and more!
