The Olivata Assisi-Spoleto belt is a heritage of history and art, of landscapes and artistic beauties that belongs to the whole of humanity.
It has been recognized by the Mipaaft as a rural-historical landscape and by the FAO as an agricultural heritage of world importance.
A foothill area that embraces six municipalities (Spoleto, Campello sul Clitunno, Trevi, Foligno, Spello, Assisi) for a total of 9 thousand hectares.
The unmistakable presence of the olive tree is the millennial result of culture not of a spontaneous nature, perfect balance between man and the environment.
The “I Sentieri nella Fascia Olivata” project aims to promote the Assisi-Spoleto Olivata belt through:
digital mapping of a route that crosses it connecting cities, towns, landscapes; the cataloging and protection of the historical, artistic and environmental heritage present; the enhancement and enhancement of the territory and the promotion of tourism linked to the discovery of oil.
The Sentieri nel Fascia Olivata project consists of five main routes:
Spoleto - Poreta
Poreta - Trevi
Trevi - Sassovivo
Sassovivo - Spello
Spello - Assisi
About 70 km, all mapped, with very different landscapes, but linked by a single tradition: the culture of the olive and oil.
