The organization and representation of each club falls on a board, chaired by a president, which is renewed every July. The immediate past president, the first and second vice-presidents, a secretary and treasurer also form part of the board (including but not limited to). Most clubs have a tail twister also called a twist and ceremonial director. In clubs with large membership there are additional positions, such as directors, members and other appointments.
Between three and five clubs are part of a zone, chaired by a zone chief. Between three and five areas are part of a region, chaired by a deputy governor of the region. Three or more regions form a district chaired by a district governor, whose position protests at the Lions Clubs' international convention, which is organized every year in the first week of July, in a host city that achieves its appointment with five years in advance.
