DMeter full form for Decibel Meter also know as Sound Meter is an App by which you can measure the Sound in decibel using your Smartphone's microphone without the need to carry the extra hardware with you.
How the App Works
DMeter (Decibel meter / Sound Meter) app uses your embedded microphone to measure noise pressure and convert it into decibels (db) and Displays the same to you.
The App can be used as a Tool to measure the Sound Level when the real sound hardware is not available to us.

How Sound Pressure is converted to Decibel?
Sound pressure level (SPL) or acoustic pressure level is a logarithmic measure of the effective pressure of a sound relative to a reference value.
Levels of Noise In decibels (dB) according to the American Academy of Audiology, from 0 dB to 150 dB between the division, for example, 60 dB is "Normal conversation", long term exposure to high decibel value will be harmful to your physical , mental health and hearing function.
REMEMBER! For some of the Smartphone there are some limits set by the manufacturer on the use of Microphone as that has been calibrated / adjusted to understand human Voice and very loud sound (100+ dB) cannot be recognized.
Permissions Required for the App to Function properly
1) Microphone: - To read the Sound present in Device Vicinity and produce the Output.
2) Storage: - To create a temporary File with the help of which the Algo works and produces the result which is accurate Sound level in Decibel. The Files gets deleted Automatically.
