It offers theoretical-practical contents and teaching-learning activities on physical activity contents in the natural environment.
The App is divided into two menus:
1) Learn to orient yourself, whose purpose is to offer the user knowledge on how to orient themselves according to the situation and the means available to them;
2) Orientation careers, whose purpose is to perform cognitive and motor tasks, overcoming challenges and other orientation tasks through different types of competition, using the mobile phone.
Learn to orient yourself, offer various features to learn how to orient yourself in the natural environment through natural resources, know the cardinal points based on natural elements such as the position of the sun, the situation of the Pole Star, the location of moss, anthills or snow. Another feature of this block is the teaching of Google Maps through tasks and simple challenges that the teacher, sports monitor or supervisor is proposing. As the last part of this block, we understand a map, it is another functionality. The user can learn and practice the interpretation of sports orientation maps, vegetation areas, meaning of colors, symbology, scales and level curves, among others.
Career guidance is the other great work block of the App. It has activities such as
- The inquisitive map, with questions about this content that users can answer while conducting a simple orientation career, with predetermined questions based on two different levels of complexity.
- The photographic Rally: photo orientation career. This task aims to train the user in the observation in order to better understand their own environment and its possibilities, through the photographic recognition of objects or representative places in the area, which will be clues to find the posts or solve the challenges proposed by the teacher, sports monitor or director of the activity.
- The treasure hunt is another activity of this second block (Orientation careers). It is a game where the user will have to solve clues, problems or puzzles to discover a place to go, through the reading of QR codes that will provide words of the treasure phrase. After deciphering the complete sentence, a countdown will begin so that the user or group can show the treasure phrase or get the final challenge. The application has three predefined levels of resolution.
- SCORE orientation career. An activity based on this sport in the natural environment, where the order of the posts is decided by the users themselves (student-athletes), each of them having a different value. It consists of a time limit to complete the race, from which will be penalized with two points every minute that the user, athlete or student is delayed.
- Finally, the alien invasion and capturing pokemons are gamified activities of the application. In the first, an alien attack has destroyed most of the vegetation of our planet, only some brave will dare to go out into the natural environment and collect information to save it through photos of the vegetation that still survives. The photos of this activity can be sent or displayed at the end of the activity. For this, the teacher or expert must offer a curricular material with information on the vegetation of the area. Capturing pokemons, is another gamified activity where the user must capture QR codes, which determine total points of attack and defense per team.
