New application of the Provincial Council of Malaga, based on Augmented Reality, which allows through the mobile camera to recognize a marker located on the beacons or panels that are found along the official and approved route of the Great Malaga Path ( GR 249).
The App has a very simple and intuitive interface with very useful and innovative elements for hikers. Most of the essential stage resources can be downloaded before riding to avoid using mobile data or compromising battery life. Unlike other Apps, this one is based on the GPS and allows to keep the hiker located.
Among the features of this App is that it offers information on:
- The stage in which the hiker is found of its 35 stages and 5 variants that travel 850 kms through 9 regions, 52 municipalities and 6 municipalities, through 4 Natural Parks, 2 Natural Reserves and 5 Natural Places.
- the municipalities of the beginning and end of the stage
- the trails with which it connects
- the location of the hiker on the stage, by means of green arrows in augmented reality indicating the next and previous mark to where we are and the distance traveled, as well as the direction to the next mark
- the download of the stage in .pdf and the route in gpx (which can be opened with other route viewing applications such as Wikiloc)
- the key image of the stage, its map and the essential characteristics (type of stage, road surface, distance, estimated time, unevenness, etc.)
- the video summary of the stage
- the satellite map with the real location of the hiker and his position on the path (the route is indicated as points, those already traveled appear in green and those pending to be covered in red)
- the list of all the stages and their variants, listed from the beginning and with the start and end municipalities, in which those already covered and those pending to be carried out are marked
- the link to the specific stage on the website of the Gran Senda de Málaga
- the "+" button, with additional information to link with all the stages and with all the information collected on the website of the Gran Senda de Málaga and with connection to social networks (Facebook and Twitter) or to call in case of emergencies at 112.
