Chinese New Year is the most important celebration of the Confucian religion. Chinese New Year celebrations begin on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and end with Cap Go Meh (十五暝 元宵節) on the 15th (during the full moon). Lunar New Year's Eve is known as Chúxī (除夕) which means "New Year's Eve".
