রামায়ণ - Ramayan

The Ramayana, known in the Bengali language by the fifteenth-century Bengali poet Krittibas Ojha, is known as Ramayana or Sriram Panchali. The main feature of the Krittibasi Ramayana is that it is composed in pear rhyme and not a literal translation of the original Sanskrit Ramayana. He introduced various aspects of the social customs and folklore of Bengal into Bangali, and in the case of Balmyki-Ramayana, it was in many cases different from the actual Balmyiki Ramayana.
