This is an overview of Eid al-Adha:
Eid al-Adha is one of the two feasts for Muslims (and the other is for Eid al-Fitr). The day 10 of Dhu al-Hijjah coincides with the end of the day of Arafah, the position in which Muslim pilgrims stand to perform the most important rituals of Hajj, and ends on the 13th of Dhu al-Hijjah.
The Muslim world celebrates in solidarity with this stand in that position, but the first days of Eid, the pilgrims there in Mina offer sacrifices to the face of God. And with them every capable Muslim from all over the world. Hence the name of this feast was Eid al-Adha, and as for the huge number of sacrifices that are slaughtered and offered as a sacrifice, it is after Abraham, who was about to slaughter his son Ishmael at the request of God, and who redeemed Ishmael with a ram that was slaughtered in the face of God.
