We use Action Units (AUs) which are a composition of the landmarks in a certain facial region.
Tracking only those AUs associated with Pain provides with the best Facial Pain results.
Pupil Dilation/Contraction is another key aspect when it comes to Pain verification and computation.
Since eyes don't lie, a patient in pain shows Pupil dilation and Pupillary Unrest.
We track this unrest which further helps the clinician understand the amount of opioids needed to be administered.
This unrest is computed under Ambient (Natural) Light.
The time sync between Pupil Unrest and Facial muscular variations help differentiate a true vs faked pain.
This real-time tracking of Face and Pupil would help closely monitor a patients (in ICU) internal pain sensation.
IMPACT thus addresses the Pain taking into consideration the Patient Pain Report and Observer Pain Report.
