What is Naepo on the Naepo Culture Forest Trail?
Naepo means the part where the sea or lake bends into the land, that is, a place where a port is formed through a waterway that connects to the sea deep inland. We are writing together.
“In Chungcheong-do, Naepo is the best. Mt. Gaya is about 200 ri northwest of Gongju. The ten towns in front of and behind Gayasan are called Naepo (內浦). Because the location is far away in one corner and it is not a major road, the two riots of Imjin (壬辰) and the sick (丙子) did not reach here. The land is fertile and flat. Also, fish and salt are very common, so there are many wealthy people, and there are many families who live in successive generations.”
The ten villages in front of and behind Gayasan mentioned above are Taean, Seosan, Hongju, Deoksan, Yesan, Sinchang, Daeheung, Cheongyang, Gyeolseong, and Haemi. It can be said to be part of Asan City and Cheongyang County.
