This application was developed to quickly calculate the weight of different geometric profiles using the main polymers, also known as engineering plastics, as raw material.
The application has intuitive user-friendly interfaces where the user chooses the raw material, the geometric profile of the part and finally performs the calculations according to the dimensions of each part.
For the selection of raw material, the user enjoys a list of thirteen materials that are among the most used in the industry today. The physical properties used as the basis for the calculations were extracted from the DIN 53479 (Testing of Plastics and Elastomers; Determination of Density) standard of 1976. If the list provided does not have the specific raw material, the user can insert the material data and perform the calculation normally.
The calculation interface has a practical layout asking you to fill in the fields with the dimensions related to the chosen geometric profile, the selection of the raw material (if it has not yet been selected) and the selection of the unit of measurement, including a quick conversion table into inches. For and carrying out the weight calculation, the user has the option of adding the unit and total values for a set of parts to the result.
