Robert Greene (born May 14, 1959) is an American writer and speaker best known for his books on influence, strategies, and temptation.

He is the author of five bestselling books: The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, 33 Strategies of War, The Fifty Law (with 50 Cent) and Mastery.

Robert Greene grew up in Los Angeles and attended the University of California, Berkeley, then completed his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in Classics.
Before becoming a writer, Greene estimated that he worked 80 jobs including as a construction worker, translator, magazine editor, and Hollywood film writer.

In 1995, Green worked as a writer at Fabrica, an art and media school in Italy, and met a book producer named Just Elvers.

Greene wrote a book on power for Elvers and wrote a presentation that eventually became the 48 Laws of Power.
He notes that this was the turning point in his life.

Green lives in Los Angeles with his girlfriend, film producer Anna Beller. He speaks five languages ​​and is learning about Buddhism. He is also a swimmer and mountain biking.
