Platform for mobilization of biomass resources
Binter (Biomass INTERmediates) is an interactive platform for mobilizing biomass resources. Smartphone application where farmers declare their available biomass by automatically placing information in a database, the transporters then organize the logistics for picking up and transporting the desired types of biomass that the end users declare as needs.
The process of becoming a user is simple:
Registration (terms of use are accepted) by entering personal data (name / surname, telephone and e-mail).
Selecting a user category (farmer, collector / transporter, end user).
The application is ready to use!
Farmers can declare the available quantities of biomass in a very quick and easy way:
1. Stop in the middle of the field where the biomass is located (to get the coordinates).
2. "Take a photo" - Take a photo from the field!
3. Enter the data in a new record (area, type of biomass, availability).
4. "Submit".
5. Available biomass is registered!
Collectors / transporters can track changes in biomass availability via Google Maps and book quantities they are interested in!
End users can declare their biomass needs (types, quantities (tn), time period) and monitor changes in biomass availability.
The concept, design and management of the application, as well as the binter database, belongs to the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Energy Resources (CPERI) at the Center for Research and Technology of Greece (CERTH), and is implemented with the technical assistance of Comitech SA , and the version for Northern Macedonia was developed in cooperation with GAUS Institute - Foundation for New Technologies, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer.
The application is available on Google Play for free, in the context of implementation and dissemination of research projects.
