The BioEduca educational software was developed by the extension project Viveiro Florestal UEPG/CAAR, in partnership with the Computer Engineering course at the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG), being a technological tool for teaching botany, which was developed to devices with Android operating system, and uses QR code technology to bring information about tree species present in the Arboretum of Colégio Estadual Agrícola Augusto Ribas (CAAR). The Arboretum consists of a collection of native and exotic tree species, selected for their ecological and morphological characteristics, and which is available for use by primary and higher education teachers. In the arboretum, the codes are inserted in identification plates attached to each species, containing, in addition to the code, the UEPG and CAAR logo, botanical family, scientific and popular name. After downloading the application, just open it and frame the camera to read the QR code, which will provide information and a set of images for each species. In addition to using QR codes, species can be consulted through a menu that lists all species registered in the application.
