The gifts of in a church are proof that the Holy Spirit is present and has life. But, of course, they are not given so that we can live from a spiritual "party to feast", but to make the church a living testimony to the unbelieving world.
The Bible mentions many charismatic gifts. In this brief study we will limit ourselves to the consideration of the nine manifestations listed in 1 Corinthians 12: 8-10:
1- Wisdom
2- Word of Science.
3- The gift of Faith.
4- Gifts of Healings
5- Do Miracles.
6- Prophecy
7- Discernment of Spirits.
8- Different Genres of Languages.
9- Interpretation of Languages.
The gifts of the Spirit are still in the Church, and that are manifested wherever there is faith, let us consider something of their purpose and what God intended them to do. The gifts of the Spirit are not toys; they are the gifts of God's love to the Church. Any attempt, therefore, to use them for selfish or frivolous purposes, would be a tragic mistake.
So what were the purposes that God had in mind when He commanded that these special gifts of the Spirit be granted to the Church? As we shall see, the primary purpose was that, through the operation of these gifts, the Church would become the functioning Body of Christ on earth. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are not the same as the fruits of the Holy Spirit, but it is clearly the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

To manifest the Body of Christ on earth. In chapter 12 of 1 Corinthians
To help evangelize the world. Mark 16: 15-18.
To edify the Church. 1 Corinthians 14: 3 12, 26
