About Team Österreich Lebensretter

Team Austria Lifesaver

What it's about and how you can be part of it!

In Austria, around 10,000 people suffer respiratory arrest every year outside of a hospital, and only one in ten survives. The reason: A cardiac massage is rarely started in time. Although helpful people are often nearby, they do not hear the cries for help. With the help of our project "Team Austria Lifesaver", this should change in the future, as first responders in the vicinity can be alerted via an app.

Team Austria Lifesaver: A team of people willing to help

First aiders who want to use their first aid knowledge for others are grouped together in the “Team Austria Lifesaver”. The team members install an app on their smartphone, which they can use to receive emergency calls from their area. If a call for help is received, the first responders can immediately run to the scene of the emergency and begin chest compressions.

Where is the system already in operation?

The system is currently being set up in Lower Austria and is currently being tested in the industrial district.

However, we are rapidly expanding the system and will keep you informed about the status of the expansion.

What if I don't live in an area where the system is already operational?

You can still register, we will contact you when the system is up and running in your region.

Why isn't the system activated immediately across Austria?

In order to be able to alert you, the system must be connected to a control center. This work is done step by step and takes some time.

The data listed in the "Data security" section as "shared with third-party companies or organizations" are only shared with the responsible control center during an operation.
