This free APP will allow you to locate Semiautomatic external defibrillators (DESA) on the island of La Gomera.
The application is an initiative of the Island Council of La Gomera and works as a complete directory of all available defibrillators, all of which are geolocated on the map.
It is a help application in case of emergency, this means that, in case of an accident or an emergency situation, any user can consult from his mobile phone, where is the nearest defibrillator.
The APP is available for free download for both Android and iOS: you will find it on Google Play and shortly on the Apple App Store.
HOW TO FIND THE NEAREST DEFIBRILLATOR IN THE APP
If you witness an accident or an emergency situation, it is important that you call 112 before you start acting.
Then, in case you need a defibrillator, you just have to enter the Map section of La Gomera Cardio and locate the nearest defibrillator.
What to do before a cardiac one?
In the face of a cardiac arrest, we must activate the survival chain as soon as possible, consisting of six basic steps:
1. Check if the person is conscious and breathing.
2. If you do not breathe, call 112.
3. Practice CPR maneuvers (100-120 compressions per minute on the sternum).
4. Ask a third person to locate the nearest defibrillator.
5. Follow the instructions of the defibrillator to apply the discharges.
6. Continue CPR maneuvers until the ambulance arrives.
