About Walk the World Food-map
The “Walk the world food-map” game is a 3D map-based Android mobile game. Its gameplay depends on the players’ mobile pedometer sensor to convert their steps in real life to a virtual distance in a 3D map.
In this respect, the game begins by requesting permission to access the steps sensor in the user’s smartphone and initializes a virtual 3D map with the points to be visited. After the player has provided their permission and the game can detect any new step activity, the players become enabled to move the virtual character using a mobile pad in their screens and explore the food map by exchanging their real steps with virtual moving distance.
When players arrive at a new geographical point, they reveal a new local dish and populate the virtual map with new information points. The game is finished when the player has completely travelled through the virtual map. As soon as it is done, the game camera changes focus and each explored point becomes clickable and when clicked, reveals a local dish of the geographic region and presents some interesting facts about them.
