Labour day is an annual event we celebrate the worker in their achievement today. Every country has a different date when they celebrate Labour Day.
As for example, Malaysia Celebrates it on the 1st May every year the same goes for Britain and in some parts of the Commonwealth.
In the United State and Canada, both celebrate on the first Monday in September.
As to pay tribute to workmen and women, we were given this day 1st of May to celebrate as a national holiday since many years ago.
According to the Department of Labor, the first Labor Day was celebrated on Tuesday, September 5 in the year 1882. During that time, it was celebrated by the New York Central Labor Union which consist of several labor unions.
It was later celebrated again the same date on the following year. Later it was proposed by the Central Labor Union to encourage other cities and states to honor workers. Starting from the following year until 1894 about 32 states have passed bills to adopt a day to honor workers.
We celebrate Labour day on the 1st of May every year. It is our official public holiday, all government, public sector, and schools are close on that day.
We do not have any official things to do normally, just having 1 day off from work. Well, it begins in our country, in early 1970s Malaysia has announced 1 May as a public holiday.
