The American "International Daily" was founded in Los Angeles, USA in 1981, and its distribution has extended to North America. In 1993, as the world’s first cooperative media of the Overseas Edition of the People’s Daily, the American International Daily simultaneously published the Overseas Edition of the People’s Daily, in 2001 it published the Hong Kong Wen Wei Po America Edition, and in 2008 it published the Hong Kong Commercial Daily.
