About codoLocator

This application is for real time tracking of mountain rescue teams and is in Beta testing at this time.

It is a very lightweight (and hence very low power use) background location reporter. Once location tracking has been started the app runs in the background and is transparent to the general use of your device. Note that if you have selected GPS as the datasource then the location icon will appear in the task bar at the period you have configured.

You will need Location services switched on under your general device settings.

Buttons:
------------

Start Tracking - will begin reading location information at the chosen period and, if an appropriate url is setup, to a web database

Stop Tracking - will stop periodic tracking

Send Location Now - a 'one-shot' locate and send (can be used whether timer is running or not)

Preferences:
------------------

Name - optional identifying name.

RadioID and password - obtained from your MR team.

Update period (mins) - controls the frequency of the location updates. Default 10mins.

Timeout (seconds) - if a location fix is not made before this time has elapsed then the current update (only) is cancelled until the selected update period has elapsed again. Default 30secs.

Accuracy required - when location information is generated it will keep alive the current update until this accuracy is achieved (or the Timeout occurs). Default 9999m (i.e. effectively the first reading no matter how inaccurate).

Use GPS to determine fix - using network masts uses less power but has a very poor accuracy. Default is to use GPS.

(Debug settings will be removed when not needed).
