About Censo Almendro Amargo

DESCRIPTION

"Bitter Almond Census" is an application designed to keep a bitter almond census updated and controlled within the production of this food in Spain, and which is included within the "Bitter Almond Eradication Plan".

The objectives of this project are:
- The eradication of bitter almonds from marketing channels.
- The identification of the almond and / or branches with bitter almonds in the field in order to carry out an action program such as elimination, new plantations or control measures, including start-up.
- The identification of bitter almonds in the agro-industrial transformation.
- Awareness-raising for farmers and inhabitants of rural areas for the proper management of almonds through workshops, awareness-raising campaigns, etc.

This tool "Censo Almendro Amargo", is developed to be able to keep updated a census of bitter almond trees within the fields, and thus be able to collaborate with its eradication at the field level.

This application makes use of geolocation to detect bitter almond trees in the field, based on captures and location using geolocation. The objective is that its fruits are not harvested and that, if it is done, to be able to stop its entry into the industrial process as soon as possible.

APPLICATION TOOLS

These are the tools included in the "Censo Almendro Amargo" application:
- Updated census query: consult a list of the census almonds, to be able to filter them according to their status (verified, identified at the foot of the field, managed, etc.), as well as their geographical location on the map.
- Modify the census: with specific functionalities for the technicians in charge of the project, it allows modifying the state of the trees, when among other cases they have already been managed.
- Locate a new tree: this functionality is designed to register a new bitter almond at the foot of the field. This tool uses various GPS triangulation points to maximize the accuracy of the location of this tree.
