This application is a puzzle that divides a board consisting of 10x10 squares into rectangles (quads) based on the numbers written on some of the squares. A rectangle contains one cell with a number, and the same number of cells as the number are assembled into a rectangle. Ultimately, it is a success if the board can be divided into rectangles without gaps or overlaps.
1. Create a puzzle
When you tap the "Start" button on the screen, numbers are automatically placed in the "number of rectangles" shown at the top of the screen, randomly selected, to create a puzzle. The number of rectangles is 2 to 50, and can be specified with the "UP" and "DWN" buttons at the top of the screen. The sum of the placed numbers is 100 (=total number of squares).
In addition to A) automatic creation, there are two ways to create a puzzle: B) manually placing numbers directly in the squares, and C) pre-designating the squares where the numbers will be placed. For methods B) and C), you need to specify the cells to place the numbers before tapping the "Start" button.
In B), tap any square once, and enter the number of the corresponding divided square square with the number buttons on the screen. A number surrounded by a colored circle appears on the square. To cancel the number, use the "<" (back) button or the "BLC" (blank) number button. The final sum of the placed numbers must be 100.
In C), if you first tap any square twice in succession, a blue circle will appear on the square. From now on, when you tap the square once, a blue circle will appear. To cancel, tap the blue circular square again. The number of squares to specify is 2 to 50.
In B) and C), after completing the above manual input, tap the "Start" button to complete the puzzle creation.
2. how to solve the puzzle
The rectangles that divide the board are formed by continuous squares. The numbers displayed in the squares represent the number of squares that make up the rectangle. One rectangle must contain one number cell. To create a rectangle, first tap the rectangle's vertices and squares with predictions. At this time, the square will be colored red. Next, swipe with your finger from that square to the diagonal vertex square. Then, according to it, a red marker that is almost the same size as the square appears and moves through the squares, and all the squares in the rectangle formed by the marker's destination square and the starting square change to light blue. The number of squares in the rectangle you have formed is displayed at the top of the screen. Exit. The marker disappears and a pale blue rectangle with a red border is drawn.
To cancel the created rectangle, tap one of the light blue squares of the rectangle twice in succession. You can also use the "<" (undo) and ">" (redo) buttons to change the creation rectangle.
The "Hint" button and "Next answer" button are useful when you have trouble creating a rectangle. The "Hint" button will highlight the number that can be split next. The "next answer" button displays the division rectangle of the next candidate.
