Fruit trees for everyone in the vineyards of Monbazillac.
Initiated by the winegrowers of the Monbazillac section, the project was selected by the citizens of the department as part of the participatory budget of the Dordogne Departmental Council in 2019. La Fabrique des Transitions en Bergeracois, the living laboratory initiated by the wine industry supports the project.
34 winegrowers are committed to making land available on the edge of their vines to accommodate fruit trees, 600 in total. There are more than 50 hardy and resistant varieties planted in December 2020. Accessible to all, the trees are indicated on site and via this application.
It is a project with multiple benefits:
- it promotes biodiversity
- it innovates through the free effect
- he draws the landscape
This project was supported by a group of actors in all stages of its realization:
- the trees come from the Aquitaine Regional Vegetable Conservatory
- the Prom'haies association supported the project for the choice of varieties
- the Bergerac Wines Federation and the Fabrique des Transitions coordinated the project to make it happen with the 34 participating Monbazillac winegrowers
Pickup is free but you are not alone. So, please do not rob the tree of all its fruits, do not damage the tree and respect the place.
