Today, the Center for the Protection of Vision is the only institution not only in the Trans-Baikal Territory, but also in the territory of the nearest regions, providing services in orthokeratology - a modern method of temporary vision correction using rigid gas-permeable contact lenses (night lenses), which are used during sleep ... This method consists of exposing the cornea of the eye at night, thus avoiding the need to wear glasses during the day.
Specialists of the Center for the Protection of Vision receive patients of all ages, in connection with which “Family Ophthalmology” was created at st. Shilova, 43, where not only adults but also children can be examined. Also, for the admission of very young patients within the network of the Center for the Protection of Vision, a specialized cabinet “Childhood” was created, located at st. Novobulvarnaya, 53. These branches treat children with refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism), accommodation disorders, strabismus. Diagnostics is carried out by specialists of the Center using the Piusoptics device, which allows you to determine refraction in babies from 3 months of age.
Both centers are equipped with optical non-contact biometers, which allow non-contact measurement of the anterior-posterior axis of the eye, that is, its size, to determine the stabilization of myopia.
Another acquisition was an open-field autorefractometer, which, when determining refraction in children, levels the accommodation of the eye.
In both centers, full pleopto-orthoptic treatment is performed. In the arsenal of specialists there are two unique amblyotron devices for the treatment of amblyopia, which have no analogues in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Ophthalmological clinic of the Center, located at st. Fedora Gladkova, 8a, is the only private clinic on the territory of the Trans-Baikal Territory, in the outpatient setting of which operations for the treatment of cataracts and glaucoma are carried out without hospitalization. The operation is performed on an outpatient basis, the total time that the client spends in the clinic on the day of the operation is only 3 hours. General anesthesia is not required, modern anesthesia allows the patient to feel comfortable during the operation.
Due to the existence of the clinic, patients have the opportunity to receive services of complex diagnostics, surgical eye treatment, laser treatment, eye prosthetics and laboratory diagnostics.
