What makes Los Chincanayros unique and different from other contemporary groups is what they meant at the time. After publishing a first album of traditional folklore, his other four incorporated differentiating elements with respect to the rest of the folklore that was made at that time: a social theme and, above all, an unparalleled personal style. In both elements, added to the fact that they made their music with the perspective and context of the historical moment they lived through, lies the authentic value they have within the musical scene of the islands.
They made a mix between folklore, tradition, folk and protest song on the grounds that this mix had, above all, Canarian content, but always echoing what society demanded at that time. Their songs collected traditional, ancestral aspects and, above all, the life of the working people and the Canarian peasantry. The Chincanayros were the vehicle for the transmission of the problems and difficulties that these people had in their day to day, by picking it up in the lyrics they sang.
