My name is FrancescaPaoletta and I am a photography student at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan. I shoot mainly in analogue both in small and medium format. For me, photography was born as a need to re-appropriate my image. Suffering from depersonalization and derealization, dissociative events, I no longer recognized the image I saw in the mirror, I saw it altered, distorted. I needed to see myself from the outside and the camera was what I needed. I started with self-portraits and slowly I saw myself as I really was, the image in the photo imprinted on the negative was objective. I have developed a sort of therapeutic relationship with photography. I have always found the artistic nude the most sincere way to express what I was feeling and to start a process of acceptance of my body. This type of photographic approach has become my focus so much that I have given life to the "CORPUS" project, of which there is an excerpt here on the app.
