Born in Bergamo in 1954, from Azzone, a small village in the Orobic Pre-Alps in the ancient Scalve Valley, son of Lisetta, an elementary school teacher, and Mario, a miner. I attend middle school and the IV gymnasium at the Episcopal Seminary of Bergamo; subsequently I enter the National Convitto di Lovere on Lake Iseo and I graduate with high school diploma in the prestigious Liceo Classico "Decio Celeri". Immediately afterwards I went to live in Padua to follow the university and in 1978 I graduated in Psychology. After the year of military service, I return to my mountain valley and there I am responsible for the employment offices for the Ministry of Labour. After three years I resigned and "emigrated" to Catania to form the family of Mario and Gabriella with Maria. In that land of memorable history and under the great Etna Volcano, I commit myself even more to the delight that I had discovered and started a few years earlier, the art and passion for wood carving, a fundamental subject in the highlands. I have so far created more than 150 sculptural works, with various types of wood, some are in private homes in Italy and abroad; over the years he has also proposed three personal exhibitions. In Catania, I immediately and permanently worked as a psychologist specialized in developmental age disorders at the Opera Diocesan Assistance body, following disabled children and adolescents, together with a strong volunteering activity in the Prospettiva cooperative for educational guidance in the community, on the street, in prison, of disadvantaged minors and with criminal problems. In June 2009 I resigned and began to carry out the new function of Mayor in the native town of Azzone where I live in the old family home; I am confirmed at the helm of this municipality for two consecutive terms; in 2019 I definitively returned home to the city of Catania. Not yet eighteen I compile the first poem; others follow, but with times and contents that vary over time, in the texts, in the places of writing; I like the simple description of reality. In fact, I live with equal passion my role and my wife as happy pensioners, in a nation that is increasingly difficult to interpret and participate in.
