APSI is a simple assessment tool in the form of an application by entering data on height/length and age of infants/toddlers for early detection of stunting based on Z-Score calculations. In addition, APSI is also equipped with monitoring the nutritional status of the mother by entering data on the size of the Upper Arm Circumference (LILA) and hemoglobin levels in the blood. The LILA measurement is for early detection of Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK), while the measurement of hemoglobin levels in the blood is for early detection of anemia.
The body of a woman, as a prospective mother, should be prepared in a healthy condition and optimally nourished so that she is ready to undergo a good pregnancy. Mother is the first and foremost person for the success of a child's growth and development. Since the fetus is 0 months to 9 months, the mother is the only source of food for a child, the important role of the mother in terms of paying attention to the child's intake also continues until the child is 2 years old (First 1000 Days of Life). If the mother is not in optimal health and nutrition, then the food intake taken by the child is also not optimal.
The hope is that this application can help the Indonesian people to know themselves about the risk of stunting in infants up to 1000 HPK.
Besides being useful for prospective mothers, mothers and pregnant women, APSI is also beneficial for health workers as an effort to screen/early detection
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
