Jotter is an end-to-end Mobile Working solution which is designed to allow users to view and capture any data that they require (as a self-contained 'job') on any mobile device that they have access to, and automatically save it back to any system that they wish to.
To provide this flexibility, Jotter is based around the concept of 'job templates' - a list and layout of fields that are individually named and capture specific types of information. These templates are 'mapped' to a back-end system to link each field with the area in that system it should save to.
While the Jotter APIs have been designed to be extensible and customisable enough to support any sort of back-end system, we generally envisage that data from jobs will be saved back to a database, and we provide a default back-end implementation that will integrate with a SQL Server database. On top of this, we also provide fully-featured and seamless integration with MasterGov, to provide local authorities with the tools that they need to streamline their on-site data capture processes.
