Departure Tax is a partner authorized by the Government of the State of Quintana Roo and the Office of the Tax Administration Service of the State of Quintana Roo, a decentralized body of the Ministry of Finance and Planning, to mediate the payment of the "Use and exploitation of the goods in the public domain" (also known as tourism tax contributions) from international tourists from around the world who travel to the State of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Departure Tax processes the payment, and the receipt is issued by the Quintana Roo State Administration Service Tax Office and is valid for the entire stay in Quintana Roo.
Departure Tax processes payment for the official amount of the tourist tax (currently $11.00 USD), plus a surcharge of $6.00 USD (six dollars) to cover expenses associated with credit card transactions and customer service.
