The Chamber was founded on October 16, 2006.
It arose from the idea of some of the main owners of Pinturerías de Capital and Gran Buenos Aires to create a Chamber that represented the paint sales sector.
CAPIN (Argentine Chamber of Paints) is the only civil association that brings together wholesalers and retailers and individuals dedicated exclusively to the sale of paint.
One of the main reasons why the Chamber was born was the need to achieve representativeness of the sector in order to ensure the regulations that regulate the activity. The emblematic case and main reason was the need to modify the legislation on the possession of flammables in the City of Buenos Aires, since it dates from 1944 when paint consumption and the national population was considerably lower than today.
To the 21 founding companies, others joined from different parts of Argentina, continuing accessions that consolidate the entity year after year.
Currently the Chamber brings together more than 90 paint shops from all over the country that together operate about 600 points of sale. It also has the support of the main manufacturers and service providers in the sector.
