With this application and a French deck it is possible to perform a surprising magic trick. The trick was originally popularized by Persi Diaconis and Ron Graham in their book Magical Mathematics. The version presented here facilitates its execution since it does not require memorizing anything. It is the application that takes care of the hard work.
The operation of the trick is based on the known sequences of de Bruijn, popularized by the Dutch mathematician Nicolaas de Bruijn (1918 - 2012).
The effect is as follows:
The magician takes a deck from his box and passes it to several spectators to be cut. After the last cut, distribute the top 5 cards to the public.
The magician then takes out a telephone and says he has an experimental application that has telepathic capabilities. The application is still under development, says the magician, and he still can not distinguish well the colors of the cards. Due to this circumstance he asks each one of the spectators that they have received a letter that says if it is black or red. While they are doing it, the magician directs his mobile to them, giving the impression that he is scanning them.
When the 5 spectators have finished saying the color of their card, the magician shows the screen of his phone. In it they appear the 5 cards that the spectators have.
