This App is dedicated to walkers and travelers who wish to travel the historical itineraries of the Lazio Region. Lazio is a region rich in biodiversity of agricultural and food interest and is a component of the historical and cultural heritage of the territory. It is the result of centuries-old relationships between communities and areas of self-consumption agriculture on which the food and wine heritage of Lazio is based. And a good way to discover it is by walking.
Agrobiodiverapp allows you to follow the traces of the historical paths of Lazio, such as the Via Francigena, the Camino di San Benedetto, the Camino di Francesco, letting you know the biodiversity that is cultivated or bred near the paths you are walking on. The App indicates the companies and farms of the owners who offer catering and hospitality services and are open to let you visit their companies where this heritage at risk is actively preserved. In fact, agricultural biodiversity lives on the territory thanks to them!
Lazio's agrobiodiversity is at risk of genetic erosion, which is why it is protected by Regional Law no. 15/2000 and by Law no. 194/2015.
