This report is meant to be used as a local guide for best empiric antimicrobial therapeutic choice. Empiric use of an antibiotic is recommended only if ≥ 95% of isolates for a given organism test susceptible to that antibiotic. This threshold, however, may not always be practical. ≥ 90% susceptible rate may at times be considered as an acceptable threshold in organisms known to exhibit multiple antimicrobial drug resistance. These tables do not include every organism that could be encountered. Only the more common clinical pathogens are included. Data is presented only for those organism–antimicrobial agent combinations with ≥ 30 isolates. All duplicate isolates have been excluded.
