Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy is considered one of the most famous interpreters of the Noble Qur’an in the modern era, as he interpreted it in simplified and more colloquial ways to reach the largest segment of Muslims throughout the Arab world. He memorized the Qur’an at the age of eleven, and at the same age he joined the Zagazig Institute of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy was born on April 15, 1911 in the village of Daqadous, Mit Ghamr, Dakahlia Governorate, Egypt.
Al-Shaarawy died on June 17, 1998, at the age of 87.
