ID BOX Tools is a demo app to read chip data from e-Documents such as passport or identity card, using the NFC and camera of your mobile phone.
To read the chip data from an e-Document, the MRZ of the document will have to be scanned using camera of mobile phone, and the e-Document should be placed at the back of the NFC interface on the mobile phone to read the data from the embedded secure chip.
After reading the chip data, data verification is done and overall verification status is displayed. All processing are performed offline and no data is stored on the mobile phone.
The app is capable of using multiple Access Control technologies including BAC, PACE, and multiple security authentication technologies such as Chip Authentication and Terminal Authentication, to ensure that the e-Document is original and that the contents are not modified.
The application requires activation of an unique license to run on every device that it is installed. During the time of activation, an active internet connection is required. After a successful activation, the application runs completely offline.
