PortalFrame is a structure calculation program based on the stiffness matrices of each structural element of the frame. It does not apply coefficients of increase in loads or of minimization in the material characteristics, but allows the entry of any load, as well as Young's modulus, steel and wood strength.
PortalFrame sizes a portal frame of 10 m. wide and 5 m. high at most (the program is inside limited). For thus use steel IPE or wood rectangular section beam.
It does not use data bases of steel IPE or of wood beams. The IPE wet and flange thickness is given by the user. The steel or wood beam dimension needed to each frame structural element is given by the program results.
