Being faced with a major problem in our student residences (use of laundry), we thought of designing a web and mobile application to solve this problem across several residences and public laundries.
Indeed, the observation that we made in our residence which has 2 washing machines and 2 dryers for about 250 residents, is that it is impossible to know if a machine is occupied, has almost finished its task or is free in order to to be able to wash our clothes in our turn. Sometimes you have to go back and forth many times to see the availability of the machines. For someone who lives on the top floor, it's a real hassle to go down every time, especially when it's an old building and there's no elevator :).
Also, it sometimes happens that some people leave their clothes in the machines several minutes after they have finished, this is due to oversights and poor time management.
To answer this problem, in our residence, we are going to design an application that will give all residents the possibility of monitoring the status of the machines in real time by adding the most important and decisive metric, which is the time remaining. of each machine so that each user can get ready to wash their clothes. This application will notify the user, whose clothes are being washed or dried, when the task is completed. Thus we will eradicate untimely omissions and this one will be able to do something else while waiting to be notified. In addition, it will allow waiting users to subscribe to end-of-task notifications, to be notified when a machine has finished so that they can in turn do their machines.
To this basic operation applied to our residence, we will extend the use of our application to other residences and public laundries. To do this, we will ask the user to specify his residence or to locate the laundries around him so that he can see the free and occupied machines of each laundromat.
It is an application that will be deployed initially in a city, then will gradually expand.
