About Mastocitosis Sistémica

Mastocytosis encompasses a rare and heterogeneous group of diseases, characterized by the proliferation and accumulation of clonal mast cells in different organs and tissues.

In the WHO consensus classification of 20013, a distinction was made between processes either limited to the skin (Cutaneous Mastocytosis) or accumulated at the level of other tissues: bone marrow and / or other extracutaneous organs (Systemic Mastocytosis and Sarcoma of the Mast cells).

Systemic Mastocytosis is a rare pathology, so its identification can be a complex process for the different specialties involved in its diagnosis.

In order to facilitate their identification and diagnosis and thus improve the quality of life of patients, the Spanish Group of Advanced Systemic Mastocytosis (GEMAST), belonging to the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH), with the collaboration of Novartis, has developed the application for a mobile device to help in the identification and diagnosis of Systemic Mastocytosis.
