We're all familiar with the 40 days of penance leading up to Easter Sunday; popularized by Saint Francis of Assisi in the Middle Ages, Saint Michael's Lent is a summertime Lent where we prepare our hearts for the Feast of Saint Michael, or Michaelmas Day, on September 29th.
