The Song of the Seriema (Cariama cristata)

Seriemas are the only living members of the bird family Cariamidae, which is also the only surviving lineage of the order Cariamiformes. They were previously classified within the order Gruiformes, but molecular data suggest a position of seriemas within a clade, which also includes hawks, parrots, and passerines, as well as the extinct terrorbirds (Phorusrhacidae).
